Double Dragons Celtic Cross inspired by Lora Irish

Teri Hislop first began carving to get closer to her father, who passed away. As she says,

“I found some of his carvings and realized that I had barely known him.  In seeking to discover some of what I’d missed; I picked up his tools and started to use them.”
Many of her sculptures are spiritual in nature, attesting to her deep personal faith.

Hislop has won several ribbons for her work at the North Jersey Woodcarvers Show. Many of her commissioned carvings are in private collections.  She mentored and supervised the school children of North Arlington in the design and construction of “America Rises”, the 9-11 memorial, donated to the community and permanently housed in the North Arlington library.
